Medical Advocate for Assault Victims
RACES (Rape Advocacy Counseling Education Services) seeks two compassionate Medical Advocates to support sexual assault victims during Emergency Room exams at Carle or Presence. Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and previous experience working with diverse populations in a social service setting. Excellent communication skills and a team-focused orientation a must. There are two shifts open: one is every Friday 6am—9pm; the other is weeknights and weekend days/nights for 50% of the time. Medical Advocates receive a stipend whether they are called to the hospital or not. Position requires completion of 40 Hour Sexual Assault Response training upon hiring; other training provided by agency. Job requires the ability to be at the ER within 45 minutes of being called.
